Los Machetes is a traditional folk dance from the Jalisco region of Mexico. It was created by farm workers who used machetes as their main tool for harvesting sugar cane. The music and dance is part of the Baile folklórico tradition of Mexico. The music is performed by Mariachi orchestras with instrumentation similar to the arrangement heard here.
