Amare Moina is a traditional lullaby of Assam, a state in northeastern India. Assamese music includes a rich heritage of lullabies, known as Nisukòni Git, which reflect the folk life and storytelling traditions of the Assamese people. Amare Moina is one of the best-known Assamese lullabies. Although arranged here for piano duet, the music can also be divided among additional players.
This piece uses the F pentatonic scale (F–G–A–C–D), and its harmony alternates between F major and its relative minor, D minor. Both parts contain several position shifts, so plan your moves carefully and follow the indicated fingerings.
